About the federation
The Barbados Chess Federation is the governing body for chess in Barbados. We run the national championships, keep the ratings, train arbiters and select the teams that represent Barbados abroad.
Our mission
To promote and govern chess in Barbados: national championships, junior development, rated play and the national teams.
The federation sanctions tournaments, publishes the rating list and selects national teams for the Chess Olympiad and youth events.
It is run by an elected council of volunteers. Clubs and schools affiliate to the federation, and players join as members.
